Frequently asked questions
Pilates is a full-body workout, low-impact exercise method that strengthens the body with emphasis on core stability, flexibility and mindful movement. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, it focuses on controlled, precise movements that build strength without bulk while improving posture and body awareness.
Classical Pilates follows the original system and exercise order as taught by Joseph Pilates himself, preserving the authentic method passed down through his direct students. This traditional approach maintains the integrity of the original exercises, sequences and apparatus work. It emphasizes the six key principles in the Pilates Method which are: breath, concentration, control, centering, precision and flow.
We are a Classical Pilates studio rooted in the original exercises taught by Joseph Pilates himself. Our focus is on movement education - we want to truly educate our clients so they can heal their bodies, feel better in their bodies and create longevity. Our name reflects our core belief: Pilates isn't just about taking lessons, it's about practicing so you can embody the work and take ownership of your movement.
Pilates is suited for everyone, young and old, athletic and sedentary. Private sessions can be customized to individual needs, including recovery from injury and strengthening for specific athletic pursuits.

Please wear an attire that is comfortable and form fitting, such as leggings or tights with a t-shirt or tank top, so you can move easily and not get caught in the equipment. Shorts don't work well for Pilates as they can restrict movement and make it difficult for instructors to see your alignment. Try to avoid anything with zippers and cord cinch on the exterior.
There is a no-shoe policy in the studio. We recommend that you either go barefoot or wear grip socks.
Bring a water bottle. In case you get thirsty, we have a water refilling station at the studio.
